It’s that time of year where athletic and workout gear is at the top of our list. People are making resolutions to workout or get back into the swing of things after all the holiday indulgences.
Over the last few years, I’ve purchased dozens of athletic leggings, and I have my own personal preferences when it comes to style, performance, and price.
My at home workouts typically consist of weight lifting and light-medium cardio. I enjoy fast paced walking outside, but I am not a runner. When I’m purchasing leggings, it’s important to me that they stay in place while I’m working out. I can’t stand when leggings roll down, which can sometimes happen with those super high waisted ones. Today, I’m sharing my favorite workout leggings, and I’m hoping you’ll be able to find a pair that works for you!
The Best Customizable Leggings
If you’re note familiar with Core 10, they are known for their “Build Your Own Leggings.” That’s what initially intrigued me about these. I bought mine in medium waist regular in a size small. I also opted for a cute perforated back design, but they are available in plain black as well. I love that they have a hidden drawstring so you can adjust them to your comfort. These run big, which is why I sized down. I found these to be very slimming too.
I also purchased the Core 10 Capri leggings. These ran smaller, in my opinion. I’m wearing a medium waist in size medium. The capris do run small small. I’m in a medium and they were snug. The fabric on these felt more cotton based and had a bit more compression than the perforated ones.
The Best Printed Leggings
I’ve been wearing these Ouges leggings for about two years now, and I just keep adding more to my collection whenever I see them on a lightning deal (which is often). I haven’t tried their solid colors, but I’ve really liked all the prints I’ve purchased. These are comfortable with mild compression and fit true to size- I wear them in a size medium. I like that these stay in place when I workout too. I definitely wear these out and about for running errands since they are super cute.
The Best “Dupe” Leggings
There’s a reason Lululemon and Athleta have hefty price tags. The quality is amazing, and they last for years. But, I’ve found that the CRZ Yoga leggings from Amazon are a great alternative to these higher priced brands. They have med-high compression, feel amazing on, and stay put when working out. I also like wearing these out and about to run errands bedside they are not see though. And you really can’t beat this price. These run big- I’m in a small.
The Best Moto Leggings
I’ve been wearing the Old Navy moto leggings for almost three years now, and mine are still in amazing shape. The style of these has changes a bit each year, but these offer medium compression and are super slimming. While they don’t carry the exact same colors right now, you can still get them in black and other colors. Fit is TTS- I’m in a medium.
The Best Capri Leggings
Oalka leggings, from Amazon, have been in my rotation for the past three years. I especially love their Space Dye patterns- they are very unique. Oalka has a ton of bright colors too. These are, by far, my favorite capri leggings. They are great for working out and are quite slimming. Fit is TTS- I’m in a medium.
The Best Compression Leggings
Old Navy’s Elevate leggings have the perfect amount of compression, making them a great option for the gym. They are slimming and come in high waist and extra high waist. They always have super cute prints too. The quality of these is right up there with some of the more expensive brands. I also find that these wash well. Fit is TTS- I’m in a medium.
The Best “Cheap” Leggings
I had to throw this one in there, because these have recently became one of my go to leggings, not just for working out at home, but for running errands too. They are super comfortable, come in a bunch of cute prints, and won’t break the bank! Fit is TTS- I’m in a medium.
