If you’ve been following my page for awhile, you know that I have pretty much been living in my designer dupe Walmart wedges all spring and summer. I’ve had them for a few months now, and I figured I would do a quick review for you ladies on how they’ve held up AND if I’m going to spend the money on the designer pair.
I bought the sandals from Walmart as soon as they were released because they looked just like the Treasure & Bond Sannibel wedges, but were $60 less. I couldn’t justify spending $80 on sandals at the time, so these $20 dupes were just what I was looking for. I mean, they looked identical!
I’ve worn them in the classroom, out and about, date nights…you name it! These have definitely been my go-to sandal because they pretty much go with everything. Aside from the very first time I wore them (I had to break them in in a bit), they have been great. I personally found them comfortable enough to wear throughout the day, even teaching all day on my feet. I’ve talked to a few other friends who have purchased them as well, and the reviews have been mixed. Like me, some just said it took one wear to break them in and then they were fine. Others said they did not find them comfortable, specifically the ankle strap.
As to how they’ve held up, I would say that for as much as I’ve worn them, the quality was much better than I expected from Walmart. The front part did stretch out a bit and the faux leather on one of the shoes had a stray string sticking out (no one would be able to notice unless they were examining the shoe). The ankle strap isn’t flimsy, but I feel like it could possibly bend with more wear.
So, am I going to go for the designer pair? YES, and here’s why. This style and color can be paired with almost everything in my closet, so I know I’ll get wear out of them. They are currently marked down to $50 (reg. $80) and this is really the first time I’ve seen them on sale, so I’m going to take advantage. I would not buy them at full price, since that’s a bit out of my budget, but I feel like $50 for shoes that are comfortable and pair well with so many outfits is a win in my book. . My Walmart ones have held up so far and they are a seriously amazing dupe, but the stretching of the top strap makes me think that they may not hold up as long as I would hope, which is expected for $20 shoes. They definitely exceeded my expectations, but I’m excited to splurge on the designer brand.
