Summer is finally here and I couldn’t be more excited! Something about the season changes always makes me so happy. I love to switch out my decor, clothes, and plan for fun seasonal activities! If you are anything like me, once a new season comes around you have the urge to switch out so much and lean into the new trends! Which is all fun and games until you seen the price tag…lol. This is one reason I started looking for more affordable options for some of the newest and hottest things for each season (or things that can be used/worn all the time)! I wanted to put all my summer spend or saves in one place in case you are on the hunt for a refresh and let you decide for yourself- would you spend or save?
First up we have what I think is the craziest price difference in all of my spend or saves! These sandals from Hermes are adorable and would be great for so many summer outfits, but for nearly $700, that is just NOT happening! Lol. I found a very similar pair that are less than 40 with so many fantastic reviews. You can’t beat that!
Summer sun hats are a must for me, and it can be tough to find one that you love! This straw hat from Brixton is so cute, but I just know it would get splashed, sat on, and overall destroyed at the pool! I found this very similar hat that many people say is an exact dupe for the Brixton hat for less than $25!
I absolutely LOVE this Supergoop glowscreen. It SPF 40 and gives the best glowy finish. Its almost like you’re wearing makeup, but it’s not too heavy for the pool or beach. Although I think it’s worth the price tag at $38, I wanted an alternative to take to the beach and on vacation in case it got lost! I found this ELF whoa glow and it is SO similar! The only real difference is that it’s SPF 30 and not 40!
Just like the last product, I adore this Supergoop (re)setting powder! Its easy to throw on when you need to reapply sunscreen and I also love it for the part in my hair! However, I also wanted an alternative to this product for my beach bag that was a bit less expensive. I found a very similar product by Hawaiian Tropic! Supergoop is SPF 35 and Hawaiian Tropic is SPF 30, otherwise they are very comparable!
This is another one of my favorite hat styles for the summer! I love a more structured hat usually, but I also love to have a hat I can throw in my bag and not worry that it will get totally smashed. I loved this option from Lack Of Color, but for $149, I thought I could find a more affordable alternative and I am so glad I did! This hat from Nordstrom is just as cute and much more budget friendly!
Can coolers are a MUST, especially in the summer! I never had one until a few years ago and wow did it make a huge difference! This one from Brumate works incredibly well but I wanted a cheaper option to take with me to the beach and the lake. I found this great option from target! I can’t say it works 100% as well as the brumate, but it sure is close!
If you know me, you know I LOVE my Bogg Bag! It really is the perfect design for a summer pool or beach bag (and also so great for other things, too!). As much as I love mine, I know that not everyone is able or willing to pay nearly $100 for their beach bag. I found this adorable alternative on Amazon that looks exactly like the bag I have for less than $25!
To be honest, I use a cooler all year round- not just in the summer! But between having a pool, having friends over for barbecues, and taking trips to the beach, a cooler is an absolute must in the summer! I know how much everyone loves their Yeti coolers and I know they work incredibly well, but I have to say, I have an RTIC cooler and I could not be more impressed with it! And with a nearly $100 price difference, I would total recommend the RTIC every day!
This final spend or save is definitely one of my favorites! This Ark bag is so cute. Its so on trend right now and so perfect for a summer date night or vacay! However, it is quite impractical. Lol. I couldn’t justify spending nearly $120 on the original, so I set out to find a similar bag with a smaller pricetag and I am so glad that I did! This bag from amazon is so similar and less than $50. It was an instant “add to cart” moment!
